Founded in 1892, Central Michigan University is Michigan's fourth largest state university. The main campus is located in Mount Pleasant, roughly 80 miles from downtown Grand Rapids. CMU began offering programs in Grand Rapids in 1983, through its Off-Campus & Online Programs unit. These programs are designed for working adults.
CMU - Grand Rapids offers Bachelor of Science, Master of Arts and Master of Science degrees in nine areas, as well as six graduate certificate programs that update student skills and credentials in just five or six courses.
The Grand Rapids center of Central Michigan University is located six miles southeast of downtown, close to Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park.
